WOOD For the me the most important part of furniture is the wood itself, the more interesting and unusual the better! I use the finest locally sourced timber, which has been carefully dried for maximum stability and definition. All my pieces are made from solid wood and I never use thin commercial veneers.

DESIGN My furniture has clean lines with particular attention paid to the pattern, colours and grain of the wood. No two pieces are the same. I take great care making sure that the proportions are correct and that each piece looks right and feels right. Subtle details are used such as chamfers, curves and tapers to add visual interest and enhance tactile appeal.

ENVIRONMENT Most of my timber is sourced locally and comes from natural wastage rather than commercial felling. I use a variety of environmentally friendly finishes, which are easy to repair and age gracefully. I never use sprayed lacquer. Well made and long lasting furniture makes the best possible use of this wonderful natural resource.

HAND MADE Naturally pieces made by hand, from the finest woods available, are going to cost more than factory furniture. But they will last many times longer and continue to give pleasure long after the price is forgotten.
